Surgeons' Hall

The main conference venue. Surgeons' Hall is the headquarters of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSED). It houses the Surgeons' Hall Museum, and the library and archive of the RCSED. The present Surgeons' Hall was designed by William Henry Playfair and completed in 1832, and is a category A listed building.

Surgeons' Hall is easily reached from the centre of Edinburgh (Princes Street, Waverly Station and the Royal Mile area) by walking down North Bridge, which then leads into South Bridge.

Informatics Forum

The workshop and tutorials venue. The landmark Informatics Forum is a centre for innovation and interaction in the centre of the University. Completed in 2008, it houses the research institutes of the University's School of Informatics.

The Forum is easily reached from Surgeons' Hall by crossing the road just to the south and heading past the grassy area. Cross the road at the crossroads ahead, the forum is the light coloured building on the left.

The Hub

The conference dinner venue. The Hub is a catagory A listed building and forms an integral part of the architectural fabric of Edinburgh. The Hub's spire is the highest point in central Edinburgh.

The Hub is easily reached from Surgeons' Hall by heading north up South Bridge until you reach the large crossroads with the Royal Mile. Turn left and head up the street towards the castle. The Hub is at the top of the road on the far side of a mini roundabout where the road forks.
